A Guide To All The Places In Disneyland That Serve Chicken Strips

Do you have a neurodivergent kid (or are you neurodivergent)? Then at least one of you is probably a pretty particular eater (not picky – particular).

Generally, that means that the individual will only eat very basic foods presented in ways familiar to them.

// I may earn money from the companies mentioned in this post. //

The good news is that Disneyland allows you to bring your own food or drink into the parks (no alcohol or edibles though). For those of you with kids who are SUPER particular, this may actually be a better option than buying food (I’m looking at you kid who will only eat Chicken McNuggets in a McDonald’s container).

Also, keep in mind that most food is branded by Disney, so if your kid is like mine and will not eat certain go-to foods because the packaging or shape are different – bring your own. There are no fridges so you’ll have to bring a cooler (however, there are microwaves inside each Baby Center location).

Since one of the most common foods that neurodivergent people will eat are chicken strips (or tenders), this post is entirely dedicated to listing every place in Disneyland that currently sells chicken strips*.

You’re welcome.

*This does not include any food carts, seasonal offerings at dining establishments, or seasonal pop-up dining spots.

KID’S MEALS:

Basically every dining place in Disneyland has some form of a kid’s meal (shocking, I know).

Disneyland offers specific meal packages for children 9 and under at most dining locations. There are two types of meals: the standard Kids’ Meal and the Kids’ Disney Check Meals – a healthier and/or plant-based option. The chicken strip options will always be located in the standard Kids’ Meals.

The standard Kids’ Meals often include*:

  • 2 chicken tenders (served with crinkle fries OR potato bites/tater tots when noted in the menu)
  • choice of any two: Cuties® Mandarin orange OR Go-Go Squeeze® applesauce OR Dannon® yogurt Smoothie OR carrots
  • choice of one: Low fat milk OR Dasani® water

*this varies so check a dining location’s menu on the app for more detailed information

Where To Find Chicken Strips

The following Disneyland establishments (as off the published date of this post) serve Kids’ Meals with chicken strips/tenders:

In Fantasyland:

In Frontierland:

In Critter Country:

In Main Street U.S.A.:

A final note regarding the Kids’ Meals food offerings at Disneyland:

  • There are no chicken nuggets – only chicken tenders.
  • The French fries are all the crinkle kind.
  • The sides for meals are name-brand and packaging looks like the kind you’d buy at the grocery store.

I’ve never had a problem ordering a kid’s meal as an adult. Sometimes, they will upcharge you (if you are 10 or older) but they are generally really nice about food preferences and needs so don’t be embarrassed to ask.

A NOTE ON ALLERGIES: Disney is really good about listing all the food options available for common allergies (dairy-free, sesame-free, gluten-free, nut-free) on their menus. You can always tell your server if you have an uncommon allergy. Disney takes allergies very seriously and has a list of every ingredient in every single food item at each dining place (seriously, it’s in a huge binder and they absolutely use it) so they can always check for you. This is also handy if you have a child with oral sensitivities who can only eat certain textures.
