One of the most common questions I get asked is what to pack for a Disney park vacation. After years of visiting the parks with my husband and kids, I have a pretty good idea of what’s needed for travel there, the hotel stay, and your time in the parks.
#1 Packing Tip
The key to packing for the Disney parks is comfort and layers. Sure, it would be lovely to dress up in elaborate themed outfits like influencers do, but… come on, man. Be real. You’re probably going to spend your days wrangling little people who are really clingy and messy.
Go for comfort – trust me, you can still be cute and family matchy-matchy but C O M F O R T above all else.
FYI, Disney policy states that no one over the age of 13 is allowed to wear a costume in the parks. This is a no exceptions/strictly enforced policy. You can, however, do Disney bounding (wearing outfits inspired by Disney characters) which is super fun and really cute.
#1 Thing NOT To Do
Also, there is a weird TikTok thing going around where they tell you to “hack” Disney’s policies by wearing as few clothes as possible so they will then give you free more family-friendly merchandise to wear/keep.
THEY DO NOT DO THIS ANYMORE.
They will absolutely stop you from entering the parks or escort you from the property and tell you that you can come back once your clothing is more appropriate for a family setting.
